I have worked with a number of non-profit organizations in a volunteer capacity. Some of the positions I have held include:
Office Manager, Gyuto Vajrayana Center, San Jose, CA. 2007 - 2009. I managed the office for a Tibetan Buddhist religious organization, including light bookkeeping, general office paperwork, database management, drafting correspondence, and assisting with public events.
General Volunteer, Heart of the Valley: Services for Seniors, Santa Clara, CA. 2005 - 2009. I assisted seniors to remain in their homes and to "age in place," including doing housekeeping, paperwork and correspondence, grocery shopping, driving them to appointments, yard work, and spur-of-the-moment troubleshooting.
General Volunteer and Blood Donor, Red Cross Silicon Valley, San Jose, CA. 2007 - 2009. I worked on attending the necessary training to qualify to deploy with disaster relief services.
www.siliconvalley-redcross.orgHealth Fair Booth Worker, Breathe California, San Jose, CA. 2007-2008. I set up and broke down booths for a lung health advocacy group. I manned their booth at a wide variety of health fairs, distributing information, brochures, and prizes.
Farm Worker, Veggielution Urban Farming Project, San Jose, CA. 2009. I worked at an educational, urban farm, doing composting, double-digging, planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting.
Server, Martha's Kitchen, San Jose, CA. 2007. I assisted with feeding the hungry poor and distributing food.
